Salehoo: Wholesale supplier search
31 July 2007The following is a paid review of the Salehoo website through the reviewme service. As usual, it’s in the Ad Posts category only. I’ve tried to keep my opinion as honest as possible so as to not taint this site or my regular content. If you’d like to comment on this or anything else here at eBayHabit, please use the contact form. If you’d like you can order a ReviewMe review to be done here on eBayHabit.
If you’re looking for a supplier for your online store, you might want to check out Salehoo. I’ve gotten a chance to take a look around the inside of the site (members side) and it really is pretty slick. There are members forums that are chock full of great advice and really is well developed. There are over 18000 posts and over 30000 members for the forums. And it looks like they are all pretty active as well. It covers anything from how to get started in importing to exclusive deals for Salehoo members.
The forums themselves make it worth the $67 that it costs for a membership. Add to that a fully functioned search of all kinds of wholesalers and dropshippers and you have a great resource for an online seller. Based on what I saw inside, the list isn’t all that great for eBay sellers, but could be very profitable to anyone with an online store or that wants to sell the latest and greatest on a site like Amazon. There are potential profits for eBay sellers, but the margin would be pretty small and finding a supplier that would work is pretty hard which makes it really not worth the effort for eBay sellers, in my opinion. But, like I said, if you have an online store and you’re looking for a supplier, you really should spend the money and give Salehoo a look.
Once you’re in, you’ll find a really well designed website that flows smoothly from one section to another and where everything is very easy to find. On the very first page after you login, you’ll see links to the supplier search, product research, and saved favorite searches and suppliers. If you want to dig a little further, you can check out the most popular threads on the forums along with the latest eBay and Salehoo news.
The supplier search couldn’t be easier. You get a full list of categories to go through or you can pick a great search that allows you to search all the suppliers or to search only the type of supplier (e.g. manufacturers) that you want to find. I had a hard time finding a keyword that I couldn’t find a supplier for. And Salehoo makes it easy to go and visit the supplier website and take a close look at what they offer and get prices or quotes to determine whether they are a viable supplier or not.
Overall, the Salehoo website is a really nice site, visually. It lacks on the content side for eBay sellers, but really could be a decent source for anyone with an online presence or who sells through a retail outlet. If you’re looking for a supplier, give Salehoo a look. I can’t say that I would recommend them for anyone, but I can certainly say that they are worth a look, and maybe worth the money for a membership. You decide for yourself and make sure you put in your due diligence and research the suppliers and the site before parting ways with your money. It’s good business and can help keep you in business.
