Rolling Door Lincoln Prototype on eBay
10 July 2007It must be the week for prototypes on eBay. First the Corvette supercar and now this. It’s a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII prototype. It has a rolling/sliding door. Rather than the door opening up like the doors we are used to, it merely slides down and under the car allowing for entry or exiting the car in a narrow space. Pretty cool actually. Of course it never got much headway for production and I don’t suppose the doors would be very well crash rated. Can’t be too much infrastructure in the doors if they slide down under the car.
