Many in the online world who deal with websites know the term search engine optimization.  Many eBay sellers do not.

Trevor at Auctionbytes wrote an excellent article on the best ways for an eBay seller to optimize an eBay store for search engines.

Despite 50 percent of online purchases being researched via a search engine, most eBay sellers ignore the potential of search engines to drive traffic to their listings. By optimizing your eBay Store, your products could improve their rankings in the search results on major search engines and boost your sales.

His tips cover many topics that include keyword usage, optimization of individual store pages, using reviews and guides, link building and performance tracking.  He goes into great detail and even if you only take one or two of the tips to use you should see results in your sales.
