Harry Potter misprints causing stir

Harry Potter 7 Deathly HallowsI think it goes without saying that if you make several million of something, you’re bound to make a mistake or two. It’s inevitable. Which is why I think it less surprising than some that there are misprints and errors in some of the latest Harry Potter book. Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final book that follows the misfit wizard Harry Potter and his friends in their quest to have a little fun and defeat He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Lord Voldemort).

What could have turned into a bit of a disappointment for a reader has turned into a bit of a boon for many who decided to sell the error copies on eBay. Many of the copies are going for $40 or $50 with some raising up to over $100. The Harry Potter Misprints seem to mostly consist of missing pages, but there are also a couple that seem to be missing the gilding on the dust-jacket and even one that is bound upside down and backwards.

If the percentages were a little better, you could make a little money by buying them on Amazon and selling on eBay, but I think that sounds like a losing proposition to me. Especially if you have no way to get your money back out of the normal ones.

  1. Lol, isn’t it just a little page number error? What’s everyone going so crazy over?

  2. Dang, I was really hoping when I read the title that we would see an alternative ending or something :)

  3. I have a copy of Goblets of Fire that has the whole chapeter put in in reverse and upside down. How about that one.
