Google has some changes up it’s sleeve for the Froogle and Base products. eBay has worked diligently to make sure that listings from eBay make it into the Froogle shopping listings, but changes to the system may make it all go away.
Simultaneously, Google intends to “de-emphasize” its own Froogle shopping search engine, a Web site featuring paid listings from eBay and other online retailers. Google intends for Froogle to no longer be a standalone Web site; instead its listings would be absorbed by other search features, Peck wrote in his report.
In the end, eBay will still work to get the listings into whatever mish-mash that google ends up with. The time in-between could see a decreased traffic from the Google domain however.
