Gallery required on eBay France
25 July 2007TameBay is reporting that the gallery feature is now a requirement on listings for eBay.fr (eBay France). You can see the announcement, but since I can’t read French, I’ll just have to take TameBay’s word on it.
As a general rule, the foreign (to U.S.) eBay sites are the first to get to try new things, so we could be looking at the same requirement here by early 2008. TameBay makes note that the traditional tweaking time for eBay U.K. is in August, so the requirement could get rolled out in the U.K. as early as next month.
I think it’s a pretty good idea. One of the first suggestions that most eBay pros will give is to use a Gallery photo on every listing. I do and I think it’s a good practice. Obviously, there are some items that a gallery photo doesn’t really fit with, but the more creative of you will surely find a way to fix that. TameBay suggests putting your logo in place of a photo where you don’t need one for the item. Another good idea might be to create a mosaic of many of the items you sell. That could be especially useful if you are a niche seller and sell lots of items in the same category.
