eBay Tip – Dare to Compare

Posted by thatedeguy on 1st May , 2007 - no responses

As a buyer on eBay, I often got frustrated by the never ending struggle to add items to my watch list, remember shipping prices, return terms, etc. No More. I discovered the Compare function in eBay search results and you should too! It’s a lifesaver.

With the compare function, you can select as many items off of the page as you like, click Compare and off you go. You now have a screen that shows the gallery picture (if there is one), current bid, BIN price, Shipping cost, Shipping terms, and return terms. Now you can compare the items side by side, add them to your watchlist one at a time or all at once, and weed out the ones your not interested in by removing them from the comparison. All from one screen. You also have the option to Watch All or Remove All making it easy to begin with a new list for a new product or you can use it to select all the items you want to watch and do a Watch All instead of going through individually to add them to your watch list.

It’s a great tool and the only downside that I can find is that it only displays 4 items at a time. Not a huge deal, but could cause issues when you start comparing lots of items. Of course you can just use a nice sorting method to get around that as well.
