eBay express, the shining new site that eBay has been pushing for nearly a year is a struggling disappointment to sellers. Despite eBay’s extensive marketing push for the site, buyer adoption hasn’t ever reached anything more than a trickle.
The site was designed to increase the number of sales that went for the buy it now pricing and as a result, the fees that eBay would collect. It immediately garnered the dislike of the sellers that were supposed to embrace it when the items that were included followed no set algorithm and many sellers were upset when their items didn’t show up in express.
eBay claims that they are satisfied with the results they have gotten from express, but sellers claim that it’s too easy to be included in express and there are no standards for items. Many sellers had bright hopes for the site that allows buyers to use a shopping cart to buy multiple items from multiple sellers. Apparently the results are just not what they were expecting.
