eBay bans auction extension
25 January 2007A practice that has been widely debated and both praised and scorned, auction extension is officially not allowed on eBay. Many sellers would use the practice to extend a 7 day auction to 10 days if it didn’t have any bids with little time left.
Use of auction extensions allowed for the circumvention of eBay fees and as such hits eBay in the pocketbook. As evidenced by the constant increasing of fees on eBay, they are very important to eBay and cannot be lost.
