Do you need a lightbox?

How do your auction listings look? You’ve taken the time to learn how to do a proper title with all your keywords and even a great description that gives the information on your item with the greatest of detail. But how does your picture look?

If you use Gallery, the picture is most often the first thing that many potential bidders see. If your picture is not very good, your bidders may not even get as far as your descriptions.

What many sellers use, and maybe you should too, is a lightbox. There are plenty that you can buy on eBay for various prices and in various sizes. Many can be a little expensive and require extra parts like lights.

What you may want to do is build a lightbox yourself. It can be done fairly cheaply and the results, while not quite as good as the ones you would buy, are still very good.

For instructions, try How to make a Inexpensive Light Tent at the Digital Photography school and the DIY eBay photo studio at Fresh Fodder. The end result of the one at Digital Photography school is a little bit better, but the one at Fresh Fodder is made from parts that you likely already have in your house.
