Shhhhhh…! Don’t look now, but Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping season is right around the corner. And if you’re in the business of selling, now is the time to be ready for it. If you haven’t started getting ready for the onslaught, you better get started. Waiting until just before Black Friday is not the way to go about it. Start doing your research now!

What is going to be the hot toy this year? I’m sure there will be a couple of Elmo toys available. I just saw an ad for a set of Tickle Me Elmo hands. Little gloves that the kids put on and use to tickle their friends. I’m sure they do some fun sounds and maybe even do the tickling for them. GI Joe is making a comeback after the movie came out. And Transformers are still pretty hot. Barbie just released a line of African American dolls. If you can get your hands on any of the above, you’ll likely make money on them.

There are plenty of electronics that will be hot as well. The old standards of iPods, iPhones, Blackberry phones, and some new ones like the Amazon Kindle, and the Barnes and Noble Nook are sure to be good sellers. Of course, you’ll likely have to get them all second hand and sell used, but that’s just as good.

This season will be a very good year for second hand sellers on eBay, eBid, and Amazon. People will be looking for all kinds of bargains and deals. Like years past, I believe there will even be a few eBay coupons out in the wild. Try and take advantage of that. Start stock piling your inventory now. Every minute you wait is another minute that your competition is getting ahead of you!

I’m sure that, by now, you’ve heard several stories about people who make their living on Garage Sales. Gary at Auction Rebel does a challenge every year where he tries to beat a goal. This year, I think he’s at $15,000. It’s not full time, but that’s just his income from Garage Sales. The bottom line about garage sale buying is that you need to know what you’re buying. The same goes for auctions and estate sales. You just have to know what you’re doing.

If you want to learn and avoid some of the hard knocks that some encounter, may I suggest a product? It’s called Big Bucks Flips. It’s a “simple, step by step guide to rescuing vintage items from yard sales and garage sales then selling them for incredible profits on eBay!” In it’s pages, you’ll find ways to identify the things that will bring big bucks. You’ll find the best ways to sell those items and the research you’ll have to do to get top dollar.

Big Bucks Flips is not a cure-all guide. There aren’t any of those out there. At least none that I’ve seen. What Big Bucks Flips is, however, is a consolidated guide on buying and selling items that you find at garage sales, auctions, and estate sales. It’s a pretty cheap guide (only $19.95 at publishing) and might make you that much or much more in the first garage sale weekend of the year. What are you waiting for? Get it, read it, then pick up the paper this weekend and start hitting a few garage sales. As you go, you’ll learn even more and you’ll watch your profits soar.

One of the more important habits to have if you’re selling on eBay or other places online is to backup your data. I’m sure you’ve all got good recordkeeping habits, or you should, but what happens if all that good recordkeeping goes up in smoke? Will you be able to restore it? Will you be able to start over and know where everything is?

If you’ve answered no to either of those questions, you really should be thinking about a backup system of some sort. I personally use Mozy Online Incremental Backup. It’s a nifty little application that you download onto your computer that runs on a schedule. At it’s scheduled time, it incrementally backs up all the data that you have it set up for and stores it on their servers. Backing up Incrementally means that it only transfers the data that has been updated since the last time it was backed up. So, if you’ve only updated your listings list, it will only upload that file. It saves you on bandwidth and gets it done faster. Efficiency!

And, for the month of January, 2009, they’ve issued a coupon to save 10% off of their already low, low prices. Or, they have a free option if you can keep your backup files under 2GB. The coupon code to enter is JANUARY. Here’s a link for it. Use Code JANUARY for 10% off annual and biannual services. Go and give them a look if you need a backup system. It’s horribly convenient and helps give you some peace of mind if something bad does happen.

With the new changes to the Feedback system on eBay, there are many sellers that are scrambling to find the best ways to not end up with malicious negative feedback from deadbeat buyers.
One way to do that is to maintain a very updated and extensive blocked bidder list. However, the problem with that is that maintaining it by hand is almost more work than the listing is. You end up taking up a spot on your list with buyers that are not registered any more. In the end, you can’t keep up and really don’t gain anything from your list.

Enter repxchange. It’s an online repository that allows you to report bad buyers to other sellers. The buyers get updated when they become no longer registered. And you can quickly throw together a list of the maximum 5000 blocked bidders. Registered sellers also get access to a search that allows for searching by eBay user id and reports back anything that has been reported on that user.

All in all, this could be a very valuable tool. At some point, eBay will have to find a better way or a new way to fix their feedback as the current system only seems to be getting more and more lopsided. And there doesn’t appear to be much help from eBay for jilted sellers. Maybe repxchange can help out with that.

With the recent raise in fees at online auction giant eBay, many people are wondering if their time as an online seller are coming to an end. There might be other options however. With every fee raise, there is an opposite move that can increase your profits that much more and make it easier to pay those fees without feeling it to badly on your bottom line. Depending on your goals, you may want to ramp up your sales to try and take advantage of the PowerSeller discounts. But you’ve got to become a power seller first.

And if you want to become a power seller, it helps to have someone in your corner. In a few days, you’ll have the opportunity to have exactly that. Sky High Auctions is a website that has an answer for you. I’ve had the lucky chance to be contacted by the people behind the scenes and got a sneak peek behind the curtain. This could be the service that puts you over the top! They’ve got a great newsletter, a ton of video tutorials (nearly 50) and enough bonuses to keep you busy for a while. The video tutorials are amazing. They cover just about anything you would want to learn about. And they aren’t by just some Joe off the street that decided he knew enough about eBay to sell a service, these people are powersellers!

I strongly encourage you to go over and take a look at the Sky High Auctions page. The first 500 people to sign up will get a pretty steep discount. It’s still worth the full price, but we’re eBayers. We were born looking for a bargain! If we can get it cheaper, then why not, right?

The official launch date for the Sky High Auction service is March 6th 2008, but don’t wait around for them to launch to sign up. They’ll be giving away almost $500 worth of extras to everyone on the pre-launch list. Also, they’ve been giving away a few of the beginner’s lessons since the 11th, so go over to their site and watch those at least. They’re free and there isn’t any sign up to watch those.

When you hear the words “eBay” and “money” in the same sentence your probably think of all the stories that you’ve heard about becoming an eBay Powerseller. You place product listings in the eBay marketplace, buyers bid, you pay your eBay seller fees and what you have left is your profit margin. There is, however, a better way to build a business that still revolves around eBay. And it doesn’t have anything to do with selling in the eBay marketplace.

This “better way” opportunity is based on the eBay affiliate program and a great tool which not only makes this opportunity possible but also super easy. This tool is called “Build A Niche Store“. B.A.N.S for short. Now if you don’t know – an affiliate program enables you as an individual internet entrepreneur to promote the products of a company in exchange for a commission on all sales that you refer. You are basically operating as an internet middleman and connecting internet browsers to particular products and companies through you own network of websites and marketing methods.

If we return to the eBay affiliate program, eBay actually invites you to promote all of the product listings in the eBay marketplace and in exchange for your efforts will pay you up to 75% of the revenue they make from each sale you refer plus up to $35 for each new active eBay member you refer. You can have a read about the eBay.com affiliate program here

What this means is that you can earn up to three quarters of eBay’s revenue simply for connecting people to the products in the eBay listings. Not only do you get to partner with the most powerful marketplace in the world, you also get access to and control over ALL of the products listed in this marketplace. The eBay product inventory becomes YOUR product inventory and you get the peace of mind of NOT have to stock items, deal with customers, organize shipping or process refunds. You are no longer limited to selling only those products which you can buy and sell for a profit margin. You can choose ANY niche market and promote those eBay products relevant to your chosen niche outside of the eBay marketplace, directing targeted traffic through to eBay and into your own affiliate commissions. Golf clubs, sewing kits, laptops, WebKinz, Jewelry, Nevada real estate… If you know eBay you know how BIG it is – there are NO limits.

At this point you might be wondering – this sounds really interesting but is there really any money in it? Well, here’s the shocker – eBay’s top affiliates make over 1 million dollars a month. That’s right – 8 figures a year without stocking, selling or shipping a single thing!

Now eBay does provide some basic free tools to help you succeed as an eBay affiliate and build an affiliate business BUT the old saying is “you get what you pay for.” It has been the development tools outside of eBay (Like BANS) that has really opened this up as a legitimate business opportunity.

The tool, as I mentioned earlier, is called “Build A Niche Store” and what it enables you to do is build eBay affiliate websites targeted to any eBay niche you want. These act as the medium through which you direct targeted visitors to eBay. Here are a couple of examples, one targeting Race Cars and the other Golf Equipment: Race Car eBay Affiliate Website
Golf eBay Affiliate Website As you can see, these are professional looking websites that contain all of those eBay products related to their target niche inside a searchable store format, each of which automatically contains your eBay affiliate id. These stores then automatically update as new products are listed for sale
and old listing expire from the eBay marketplace and the software has built in development features which enable you to create new store pages, add content to these pages, create content pages, modify your template etc etc. Basically, in the space of about 10 minutes (once you are familiar with how the software works) you can create a fully functional eBay affiliate website targeted to the niche market of your choice.

Your store content is all search engine friendly which will provide the foundation for attracting targeted traffic from the search engines and you can then use the development features to attract more targeted visitors which will in turn mean more eBay affiliate commissions. It really is a amazing concept and I’ve been hearing great things about the guys behind the project and the member forum which you get lifetime access to when you purchase the product.

Build A Niche Store comes with a step by step user manual which will walk even the most technically inexperienced through setting up their eBay affiliate website, 9 professional template layouts which can be customized (from inside your admin panel) to match your target niche, lifetime member forum access, comprehensive product support and possibly most importantly – an UNLIMITED domain license which means you can build as many of these niche websites as you want for the small one time fee. Think about how many niches eBay caters to!

How big could your eBay affiliate business be?! This product gets my full recommendation – check it out today… Click Here To Read More About Build A Niche Store

Ebay has created a revolution in online shopping. It has changed the perception of shopping. It is a pioneer in cultivating the change in the minds of shoppers to go for online shopping. Millions of buyers have made them the largest and most successful ‘buy it now’ or ‘auction’ website in the world. Will you be left behind in using the services of this biggest online shopping hub.

Though ebay is the largest online shopping website with millions of people buying through it, it still contributes to less than 10 percent of all retail transactions. Tickets, travel and book selling contributes a major portion of ebay transactions. Inspite of its huge volume, why ebay’s contribution to the total retail volume is less?

Fear pshycosis plays a major role. The first thing is that, many feel that they will be cheated while buying online. It is difficult to verify the authenticity of the seller. The return of products or replacement of goods will be difficult and it would be wrong drawn battle if the integrity of the seller is not known. The second most important concern is the safety aspect of using the credit card for online purchase. But ebay has over the period built a reputation of a quality online shopping center. If you follow some precautionary measures it will be more safe on buying at ebay.

The safety guidelines to be followed before buying

For people who have not had a prior experience in online selling, understanding the intricacies and workings of eBay can be difficult. The newest trend on this very popular auction site is that of buying and selling wholesale products.

Before going into the complicacies of online auctioning and selling, a description of the actual way of using eBay to put products up for sale must be provided. Known to most as simply a website, eBay is, in reality, much more than that. There is no physical store called eBay and what this online store does is helps you buy and sell goods at the best possible prices. All that one needs to do to sell goods on eBay is enlist with the online store which only takes a few minutes; however, the entire process of a sale takes just about a few days. The initial price is specified by the seller after which the product stays online for sometime and finally the buyer who is also the highest bidder gets to grab the goods!

More recently, auctioning of wholesale goods has become extremely popular. Most online sellers these days are seen aiming at sources that sell wholesale goods that maybe resold via an auctioning site. These sources can range from online sellers to flea market dealers. The products that small retailers have the capacity to sell like hot cake and as a result are bought by sellers who want to resell them online. Selling wholesale products on an auctioning site like eBay obviously has its own advantages.

But in order to gain the most advantage from an auction site, you would need to establish your business as a “real” one. Otherwise, you will always face the risk of being declined by wholesalers. Establishing the authenticity of your business is
to ensure that your enquiries do not get turned down by the wholesalers. If you want your business to be regarded as genuine, then the first step to ensure it will be to get a tax number (known by different names in various countries) seeing which the tax authorities will provide a business license. Once this is done you are ready to approach a wholesaler who can provide you with fast- selling goods that are bound to create ripples on auctioning sites like eBay. The best thing about buying wholesale from small but established wholesalers is that you get access to the best goods at an unimaginably reasonable price. You could even try drop-shipping which can further reduce pricing and investment in wholesale goods.

Arranging for sales on a site like eBay can actually get your financial status a great lift. How? Again going wholesale is the answer. For eBay sellers who get hold of products from wholesalers, it is always easier to earn profits. This is because auction sites like eBay allow sellers to put up sale for individual products. Thus, as soon as a person is acquiring goods from a wholesaler he just needs to part with a highly discounted sum of money (due to purchase of volumes), while during the sale of the same goods he can earn individual profits (selling retail).

The best thing about eBay is that it reaches out globally to many consumers and any individual putting up a sale can expect the simplest of commodities to reap in the greatest of fortunes. This happens because the seller can wait until the highest price comes his way and this further ensures that the profit margin remains high every time. Selling on eBay is “a dream come true” for every one out there contemplating to make good business. All that a seller needs to pay is a minimal amount during the time of enlisting and then another meager sum when the product ultimately gets sold. There are no hidden costs and the seller gets the price he wants. There are no middlemen involved and trading on eBay means you get what you see!

Now that the gift giving is over, you’ve probably assessed what you’ve gotten and filtered out the items that you really don’t want. You probably know that you, along with many others, will be selling those unwanted items on eBay to get money to spend on something you really wanted. But what about those gift cards? Here’s two really great ways to make the most of those unwanted gift cards this new year.

Sell them on eBay:

No-brainer right? Well, you’ll be surprised if you ask a few people you know if they knew that gift cards could be bought and sold on eBay. Regardless, there is a very good market for gift cards. Typically, you should be able to gross about 80-82% of the face value of the card. Not bad for a free gift right? Of course, buying gift cards here is also a pretty good deal as you can net yourself an instant 20% discount before you even get to the store.

Buy stuff to sell on eBay:

Most people won’t think of this. Directly after Christmas, all the retailers mark down all their inventory to try and get rid of as much of it as possible. Lots of sellers buy product during this time, hold on to it for a month or so while waiting for prices to resume normalcy, then sell the items for a tidy profit. You can do the same with your gift card. Do a little research on the items in the flyer of the retail store you have the card for then buy some items with it. Hold on to them until mid January, then see how much profit you can make off of Aunt Mabel’s gift card!

There are lots of ways to get rid of your unwanted gift cards. There are even places where gift cards can be traded. Whatever you do, get creative and see how much money you can make with your cards!

If you’ve done any selling on eBay, you know how hard it can be to get feedback from your buyers. And you also have probably realized just how important feedback can be for your business. Get to many negative comments and your sales can suffer greatly. Don’t expect to not get any negatives, you will. What you have to do is get a lot more positives than you do negatives. How do you do that with the low percentage of people who actually give feedback? Ask.

Many people just don’t realize that they haven’t given feedback. Or that they need to. Those that do, usually will give feedback quickly. Those that don’t need a little bit of a reminder. If you find that a large percentage of your buyers aren’t leaving feedback, you can give them a little nudge. First you have to have the Selling Manager add on. It’s $4.99 a month (free with a store) and worth every penny. I get lost without it. Simply log into your “My eBay” page. Click on the link for the items that have been “Paid and Shipped” in the Selling Manager. Once your in there, you can see which buyers have left feedback and which haven’t. Simply check the boxes next to the ones that haven’t left feedback, and click on email. When it loads, use the drop down to select the “feedback reminder” template. Then just click send.

You’ve just sent an email to all your non-feedback buyers that politely asks them to leave feedback and gives them a link directly to the feedback page for that auction. It makes it super easy for the buyer and the easier it is for them, the higher the chances that they’ll do it. I find that another 75% or so leave feedback that didn’t before. It’s great for increasing your feedback count and getting those super cool stars!
