Book Selling on Amazon

1 November 2006

If you’re running an online business on eBay or one of the other auction sites, you probably come across books everyonce in a while.  Sometimes you can auction those books off, but you might make more money if you list them with Amazon.

Listing a book is free on Amazon.  When the the book sells, Amazon takes a $.99 transaction fee, $1.22 in closing fees, and a 15% final value fee.  If you look at just the final fees, you probably are thinking that it would come out about even.  Where the advantage to selling on Amazon comes in is if you have to relist the book.  On eBay, you’d pay the listing fee all over again.  On Amazon, there are no listing fees.  Advantage Amazon.

It’s really easy to list a book and certainly worth a look if you ever have books to see.
