Black Friday is Right Around the Corner
27 October 2009Shhhhhh…! Don’t look now, but Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping season is right around the corner. And if you’re in the business of selling, now is the time to be ready for it. If you haven’t started getting ready for the onslaught, you better get started. Waiting until just before Black Friday is not the way to go about it. Start doing your research now!
What is going to be the hot toy this year? I’m sure there will be a couple of Elmo toys available. I just saw an ad for a set of Tickle Me Elmo hands. Little gloves that the kids put on and use to tickle their friends. I’m sure they do some fun sounds and maybe even do the tickling for them. GI Joe is making a comeback after the movie came out. And Transformers are still pretty hot. Barbie just released a line of African American dolls. If you can get your hands on any of the above, you’ll likely make money on them.
There are plenty of electronics that will be hot as well. The old standards of iPods, iPhones, Blackberry phones, and some new ones like the Amazon Kindle, and the Barnes and Noble Nook are sure to be good sellers. Of course, you’ll likely have to get them all second hand and sell used, but that’s just as good.
This season will be a very good year for second hand sellers on eBay, eBid, and Amazon. People will be looking for all kinds of bargains and deals. Like years past, I believe there will even be a few eBay coupons out in the wild. Try and take advantage of that. Start stock piling your inventory now. Every minute you wait is another minute that your competition is getting ahead of you!

Heard on the radio this morning, they were talking about the ZhuZhu hampster? Not sure if I have the correct spelling, but it’s also suppose to be one of the more popular toys this season.

I think I’m gonna get a new iTouch! Mine is an old one with only 16Gb. The newer ones come out with a 64Gb HD size, right? Wonder if I can find a discount or something this weekend?

I agree that ramping up the product portfolio is a great idea for the month before Chrsitmas season. Personally I tend to give my attention to products that will be in demand all year around however there sure is a heck of a lot of potential at Christmas and especially this one.

Black Friday… the most disgraceful day of the year. The day where people will punch an old man in the face for a TV (That’s an understatement. This year an old man was stabbed for a TV)

Great Article and information, Thank You! I always think of e-bay as the “cleaning out the attic” kind of place. When i see stores that buy and sell it is not what i think of as the norm but i guess ebay has become like a mall full of stores with a flea market attached where anyone can sell one or two things also. we sold all of our maternity stuff and worked out well.
