And these ones just might be alright. Maybe eBay has finally heard the people talking and is looking to make things better for us. Here’s a link to the official eBay announcement: July 2009 Seller Announcement.
A couple of highlights on the announcement. No more average DSR’s. They’ll be using a more seller friendly count of the low (1′s and 2′s) star ratings. Also, some changes to the requirements for PowerSeller status that should make it a bit easier to get in.
I’ll save you the in depth look here, as there will be plenty of that going around the blogs in the coming days, but if you really need to have a bit of analysis you can take a look at what Scot Wingo thinks of all the changes over at eBay Strategies.

Nice changes – at least this will make up for the fact that they still won’t let me into the Ebay Partner Network for some reason. I can’t wait until I become a powerseller!

The changes sound good. I was once a PowerSeller, but it has been difficult to get back in…hopefully this will make it easier.

I’ve always thought the “PowerSeller” club was too hard to break into, so I’m happy they made it somewhat easier.

I really dislike this new change Ebay has come out with. It seems like they’re trying to come up with more and more ways to make sellers jump through hoops to get high rankings and a discount. With this new program you are basically at the mercy of your buyers who may leave you low rankings thinking 3 or 4 stars is high when here it hurts you. It looks like Ebay is just going to keep rolling out more and more changes too that are just going to help the buyer and yet hurt the seller. How disappointing when we’re the ones that keep their ship running!
