Amazon Business Fulfillment, a part of the Amazon Business Solutions Suite, offers a very unique service for online business owners.
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a new program that makes delivering your Pro Merchant Program and WebStore orders a snap. You send your new and used products to us, and we’ll store them. As orders are placed, we’ll pick, pack and ship them to your customers from our network of fulfillment centers.
I don’t do a whole lot of selling on Amazon, or at least not enough to justify either a pro merchant account or a Webstore, but I can see this being a really, really nice service for online sellers. There are many sellers that sell many hundreds and thousands of items through those services each month, and while there are some logistical issues that would have to be solved, I can see it being great for those sellers. Logistically, if you have one item that is more popular than others, there is potential for under stocking that item. Especially if you don’t expect that item to be more popular.
Amazon is quickly positioning itself as one of the premier business partners online. There are many eBay sellers making the move to Amazon instead.
